Metal Machining Oil

Metal processing oil (liquid) is a widely used chemical additive in the metal processing process

Metal processing oil (fluid) is an important product used in metal processing to improve surface smoothness, processing performance, prolong tool life, and enhance the rust resistance of processed products. It usually includes oil-based machining oils and water-based cutting fluids. Among them, water-based cutting fluids include: emulsion, synthetic cutting fluid, and semi synthetic cutting fluid. The main functions of metal processing oil (liquid) include lubrication, cooling, cleaning, rust prevention, etc.

Definition and classification

Metal working fluid is mainly a liquid used in metal processing, with a variety of types including cutting fluid, cutting oil, emulsion, stamping oil, quenching oil, quenching agent, high-temperature oil, extreme pressure cutting fluid, grinding fluid, and other types.

Major function

Lubrication effect: Metal working fluid forms a lubricating film during the machining process, reducing cutting force, friction, and power consumption, lowering the surface temperature and tool wear of the friction area between the tool and the workpiece blank, and improving the cutting performance of the workpiece material.

Cooling effect: Through the convection and vaporization between the cutting fluid and the heated tool, chips, and workpiece, the cutting temperature is effectively reduced, the thermal deformation of the workpiece and tool is reduced, the tool hardness is maintained, and the machining accuracy and tool durability are improved.

Cleaning function: In the metal cutting process, it is required that the cutting fluid has a good cleaning effect, which can remove generated chips, abrasives, iron powder, oil stains, and sand particles, prevent contamination of the machine tool, workpiece, and tool, and maintain the sharpness of the cutting edge.

Rust prevention effect: The metal working fluid also contains some rust prevention components, which can effectively prevent rust on the processed metal workpiece.

Application and proportion

Metal working fluid is generally suitable for all types of processing of various metals and alloys, and is very effective for general processing of most iron metals, especially when processing soft steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other special steels, it can simultaneously play an excellent lubricating and cooling role.

According to different processing requirements and material types, metal processing fluids can be formulated into different concentrations of processing fluids. For example, it is recommended to use a concentration of 3 to 5% for light load processing and grinding, 5 to 8% for medium load processing and grinding, and 8 to 10% for heavy load processing and grinding.

Features and advantages

Metalworking cutting fluid is a soluble lubricant with low foam and high lubricity, which can reduce the maintenance cost to the minimum even when it is applied in the environment with high requirements for working fluid.

The product adopts a very stable formula, greatly extending its service life, and is an environmentally friendly product, which is very safe for machines and operators.

It has good wetting and adhesion properties, reduces the splashing loss of cutting fluid, and also cleans the environment. Disposal

After use, the coolant can be easily removed with water, processing solution, or water-based cleaning agent. Users can utilize existing technology and equipment, and dispose of products according to common disposal methods.
